Membership at Christ's Church of the Valley
MEMBERSHIP
The word “membership” is not used in the Scriptures. The New Testament church had no need of formal membership, relying instead on God to gather together believers in a local body known as the church (assembly).
“And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:47b NIV
Church membership is a way of officially identifying oneself with a local group of believers. Membership at Christ’s Church of the Valley is a statement that a Christian is in agreement with the church and is willing to be identified as a representative of it. Membership will allow the Christian to be involved in the following aspects of the church:
-
Voting on church issues, such as elders, deacons, ministers and other business
-
Serve in leadership positions
-
Lead a ministry within the church
-
Teach a class or study group
To become a member of Christ’s Church of the Valley, one must be an immersed believer into the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38), agree with the Scriptural teaching of the church and simply ask to be a member.
As a member of Christ’s Church of the Valley, we hope you will join with others in the study of God’s Word, prayer, worship, commitment to growing closer to Christ and the demonstration of your faith in Christ.
We as Christians and members of Christ’s Church of the Valley want to build God’s Kingdom in the way that God desires His church to be built. Being a member at Christ’s Church of the Valley will bring you into a community of believers who love God and care about people.
What if you decide not to become a member?
We invite you to worship, fellowship, serve and grow in
the Lord Jesus Christ alongside all of us at
Christ’s Church of the Valley.
